Not all web agencies are created equal. Before signing anything, ask these five questions.

1. Who actually builds the site?

Many agencies outsource to freelancers overseas. Ask directly if the person you’re meeting is the one writing your code.

2. Can I see your PageSpeed scores?

Ask for screenshots of recent client sites on Google PageSpeed Insights. If they score below 80 on mobile, walk away.

3. Do you use page builders?

Elementor, Divi, and similar tools create bloated code that tanks performance. Ask for custom-built sites.

4. What happens if I want to leave?

You should own your site and hosting credentials from day one. Any agency that holds your domain or hosting hostage is a red flag.

5. Is pricing on your website?

If an agency won’t put prices on their website, it’s usually because they quote based on what they think you can afford.
